Governance Before Automation

Reliable automation starts with clearly defined authority. A workflow should know what it may observe, what it may change, and when a human decision is required.

Define the boundary

Separate read-only discovery from proposed changes and actions that affect production. Give each step a clear scope and an explicit owner.

Make evidence visible

Record the inputs, checks, and results that support a recommendation. An analysis can inform a decision, but it should not silently grant permission to act.

Keep approval explicit

Require a deliberate approval gate for consequential actions, and preserve an auditable trail of what was authorized.
